And Ebony Was...
...already spayed!!! Ah, well, as she is a rescued stray all she got from the ordeal is a shaved belly and her shots. But the good news is she is not Feline Leukemia positive, so won't be infecting the other kitties in the household. Now it appears she and the 'Big White Beast', Reggie, just don't like each other and are just fighting over 'alpha' status. Pawz could care less and is just happy to be home :)

Today Ebony Goes to the Vet
Today the newest black female gets to go to the vet to get spayed. She's been vying for alpha cat status with Pawz ever since Pawz got back. And been going in and out of heat and fighting with the fixed male. Will have to see how the surgery goes.

Bless the Lord, O' My Soul!
I Wish to Thank the Lord with My Heart and My Soul for bringing my Pawz Kitten home!
You'll Never Believe It, But...
...Guess What? It was Pawz!!! She was sitting on my front porch when I got home from the 'city'. My neighbor had been feeding the 'stray' cat for the past 3 or 4 weeks. She had been coming around his house regularly about noon to 2 and getting fed and he had even let her into his house a couple of times. When he called to ask me about the cat I really tried not to get my hopes up that it was Pawz 'cause she had been gone on her great adventure in the forest for 2 months, but his discription on her and her front feet was just too accurate for it NOT to have been her. But we had errands we had to run yesterday (payday), so down to Alamogordo (the nearest big city) we went to pay our bills and get our monthly supplies and he was going to put the cat on our front porch so we could have it when we got home. YIPPEE!!! When we got home there on our wood pile, just as if she had never left, a somewhat skinnier version, but very glad to be home - Pawz Kitten!!!

Could it be???
The phone rang and the neighbor said that a black and white (dark gray and white) cat with extra toes has been coming over to his house to get fed for the past month. Now the ONLY gray and white cat with extra toes is my Pawz Kitten!!! Could it really be her? Do I get my hopes up that she might be ending her grand adventure and be on her way home? I'm not sure I should, but I will keep you posted...

Black Cat
As my new black cat, Ebony, sits on my lap, I can't help but wonder how my 16 year old cat named Pawz is doing on her extended adventure out in the forest where she decided 2 months ago to escape from her confines of continued indoor living into the wild open wonders of wilderness exploration. I continue to hope that she is outrunning and outsmarting the coyotes, hawks, owls, and eagles that live up here, not to mention that darned mountain lion pawprint I saw just the other day. I put up a sign right after she left for anyone in town to help me locate her, but the only responses it got me were offers of new kittens. Alas, all I wanted was the sweet return of my own Pawz kitten, but to no avail for me, for she has evaded all calls and continues her grand adventure. Which returns me to my new sweet black kitten resting on my lap as I write in my new 'journal'. She came to the house just a couple of days before Pawz left on her journey just as I was readying to put my other 16 year old cat, Bobby, to sleep due to kidney failure. God brought me Ebony to take Bobby's place. Little did I know, she would be filling in for Pawz too.
